Bali All Inclusive Family Resorts, and the Famous One That Cannot Take Your Children

Fourteen Bali resorts were tested in August 2026 against one question: does this property sell a genuine, resort-wide all-inclusive rate on its own website that a family can book directly? Two pass, eleven fail, and the two that pass belong to the same company. The best-known family all-inclusive on the island passes as a brand product and is closed to guests under 12 until 1 June 2027, which no listicle mentions.

Samabe Bali Suites and Villas in Sawangan publishes an Unlimited Privilege plan with the best exclusions list in Bali. They are owned by the same company. What the rate covers, and what it does not

In Bali the word all-inclusive fails at the first test far more often than it fails at the second. Ten of the fourteen resorts checked publish the phrase zero times on their own homepage, including several sold widely as all-inclusive elsewhere: Bali Tropic Resort and Spa has a sitemap of six URLs, all of them room types, and no package or meal-plan page at all. An eleventh, The Grand Bali Nusa Dua, publishes the phrase once with no product behind it. Being sold as all-inclusive by a tour operator does not count here and was not checked, because a tour operator's system is not an operator source. What follows is the two that pass, the one that passes and excludes children, and the strongest of the resorts that fail, listed with what they actually sell instead.

What the bands mean

The two genuine plans price children differently and both publish it. Grand Mirage counts a guest as an adult from 12, gives infants aged 0 to 3 the plan free for up to two of them including a baby cot, and charges a nominal USD 55 a night for a child aged 4 to 11. Samabe covers a two-year-old's meals at no charge with limited activity and covers a four-year-old and above, without publishing an adult age at all. The upgrade prices tell you as much as the inclusions: Samabe publishes premium spirits at IDR 1,200,000 net a person a night with a two-night minimum attached, while Grand Mirage does not price its premium tier and instead restricts it to one bar for three hours a night. Neither publishes a service charge or a government tax as a percentage, and Grand Mirage quotes its own airport transfer at IDR 680,000 one way for up to four people on a different page from the one that gives the same journey away free on a four-night stay.

    The catch
    It is the most transparent all-inclusive operator found anywhere in this project, and that transparency is what exposes the plan's edges. The drinks stop for ten hours a day, room-service drinks are out, and the motorised water sports Tanjung Benoa is famous for are out unless you stay long enough to earn a voucher, which children cannot use anyway. It also states that if all-inclusive guests share a table with guests on a different meal plan, the standard full rate applies.

    The catch
    Its FAQ is the best exclusions document in Bali and it still contradicts itself on the spa, promising spa treatments in the introduction and excluding them in the closing list. Both readings stand here because the operator publishes both. For a family the deeper problem is that everything a child receives is qualified by the phrase with limited activity, which is never defined, and no kids club is published at all.

    The reason is a renovation of The Agung main restaurant that takes the Mini Club and the Amazing Family! space with it, and the operator states the consequence in full: kids clubs, including teens programmes and services, will not be available, and the resort will only be able to welcome guests aged 12 and above. Note where you read it, because Club Med's Australian and Singapore sites carry the notice and its UK site does not. Beyond the closure it publishes no exclusions at all: no drink hours, no room service rule, no minibar rule and no statement of which restaurants carry a supplement.

Where not to book in Bali

Three things to settle before paying. The first is Club Med Bali, because it is the resort most families arrive at this page looking for and it accepts no guest under 12 from 1 July 2026 to 31 May 2027, on its own notice. Check which country's Club Med site you are reading, because the Australian and Singapore sites carry that notice and the UK site does not. The second is the drinks, and specifically the hours: Grand Mirage publishes a night break making beverage service unavailable from 01:00 to 11:00, keeps international spirits to one bar between 21:00 and midnight, and excludes drinks ordered through room service entirely. The third is the transfer, which neither genuine plan includes unconditionally: Grand Mirage gives it free at four nights and otherwise charges IDR 1,360,000 return for up to four people, and Samabe gives it at five nights and only on a direct booking. Note too that if a third-party site sells you a Bali all-inclusive at any resort other than these three, the operator does not publish that product, and eleven of the fourteen tested here publish nothing of the kind.

When to book

Length of stay is the lever on this page rather than season. Both genuine plans hang their best inclusions on nights: Grand Mirage gives free shared return airport transfers at four nights and a motorised water sports voucher per person at seven and again at nine, and Samabe gives a private transfer at five nights and only when booked direct on its own site. So a four-night trip and a three-night trip are different products at the same rate. Book Samabe's premium spirits upgrade with at least two consecutive nights, because the operator attaches that minimum to it. Budget the Bali tourist levy separately at IDR 150,000 a person, once per trip, since neither operator mentions it. And if the family includes a child aged 4 to 11, add Grand Mirage's USD 55 a night to every quote before comparing it with anything else.

Two that a family can book directly, and they share an owner. Grand Mirage Resort and Thalasso Bali in Tanjung Benoa publishes a dedicated all-inclusive section with eight expandable panels. Both carry the footer line naming them members of Samabe Leisure and each links to the other. Because the resort is not accepting anyone under 12 for eleven months, and it says so on its own page: from 1 July 2026 to 31 May 2027 the resort welcomes guests aged 12 years and above only. The cause is a renovation of The Agung main restaurant, which takes the Mini Club and the Amazing Family! space with it because they sit in the same area. The operator states the consequence in full, that kids clubs including teens programmes and services will not be available for that period. It is worth checking which country's Club Med site you are looking at, because the Australian and Singapore sites publish the notice and the UK site does not.

Drinks at certain hours, room service drinks at one of the two, motorised water sports at both, and the airport transfer unless you stay long enough. Grand Mirage publishes a night break making beverage service unavailable from 01:00 to 11:00, restricts international spirits to Panorama Bar from 21:00 to midnight, and states plainly that beverages ordered via room service are not included. Samabe includes room service drinks and excludes dry cleaning, premium brand liquor, bottled wine, champagne, private beach dinners, spa treatments and overseas calls. Neither includes motorised water sports as standard, which matters in Tanjung Benoa, where Grand Mirage gives one voucher a person only at seven nights and excludes children from it.

No, and the two operators answer differently. Grand Mirage counts a guest as an adult from 12, repeated on every room page as children from 12 years and above are considered adults. Infants aged 0 to 3 are complimentary on the plan for up to two of them, including one baby cot. A child aged 4 to 11 carries what the operator calls a nominal charge of USD 55 a night. Samabe publishes no adult age at all and answers by example instead: a two-year-old's meals are covered at no charge with limited activity, and a child of four and above is covered on the plan. That phrase, with limited activity, is never defined anywhere on the site.

At Grand Mirage there is, and it publishes both a minimum height and a maximum age, which is the reverse of the usual arrangement. Guests of at least 100 cm may use the pool slides, open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. The Kids Mini Water Park is allowed for children up to 15 years old and must be under parental supervision, on the same hours. That makes it one of very few Bali operators publishing any usable water rule at all: on the sibling Bali family resorts page, six of twelve resorts publish a slide and not one publishes a minimum height.

Only if you stay long enough, and both conditions are published. Grand Mirage gives free shared return airport transfers on a four-night stay, and prices the same journey on a different page at IDR 680,000 one way or IDR 1,360,000 return, quoted for up to four people rather than per person, which is worth knowing for a family. Samabe gives a private airport transfer on a minimum five-night stay and only when the booking is made direct on its own website, so booking the same resort through a third party loses it. Club Med Bali publishes nothing about transfers at all, neither included nor priced.
