In Brief
Which Bali resorts genuinely sell an all-inclusive family rate?
Two. Grand Mirage Resort and Thalasso Bali in Tanjung Benoa publishes the most completely documented all-inclusive plan found anywhere in this research, with eight panels covering meals, drinks, water sports, activities, long-stay bonuses and children. Samabe Bali Suites and Villas in Sawangan publishes an Unlimited Privilege plan with the best exclusions list in Bali. They are owned by the same company. Club Med Bali is the third genuine all-inclusive brand product and it accepts no guest under 12 until 1 June 2027.
Key takeaways
- Ten of the fourteen tested publish the phrase all inclusive zero times on their own homepage
- Grand Mirage suspends its included drinks for ten hours a day, from 1am to 11am
- Both airport transfers are conditional on length of stay, at four nights and five nights
- Neither plan includes motorised water sports, at the beach Bali is famous for them
What the rate covers, and what it does not
In Bali the word all-inclusive fails at the first test far more often than it fails at the second. Ten of the fourteen resorts checked publish the phrase zero times on their own homepage, including several sold widely as all-inclusive elsewhere: Bali Tropic Resort and Spa has a sitemap of six URLs, all of them room types, and no package or meal-plan page at all. An eleventh, The Grand Bali Nusa Dua, publishes the phrase once with no product behind it. Being sold as all-inclusive by a tour operator does not count here and was not checked, because a tour operator's system is not an operator source. What follows is the two that pass, the one that passes and excludes children, and the strongest of the resorts that fail, listed with what they actually sell instead.

Which resort suits which family
| If this is you | Book | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wanting a real all-inclusive with the small print published | Grand Mirage Resort and Thalasso Bali | Eight panels covering meals, drinks, water sports, activities, long-stay bonuses and children, plus a 100cm slide minimum. |
| Wanting room service drinks inside the rate | Samabe Bali Suites and Villas | It answers the room service question with a yes, 24 hours, where its own sister resort excludes drinks. |
| Travelling with a baby | Grand Mirage Resort and Thalasso Bali | Two infants aged 0 to 3 go free on the plan including one baby cot, which is the only published infant rule here. |
| Considering Club Med Bali | Do not book it with children under 12 | It welcomes guests aged 12 and above only, from 1 July 2026 to 31 May 2027, on its own published notice. |
| Happy with a family resort on a room rate | Bali Dynasty Resort | The strongest family property among those with no board plan, sold on room rates in South Kuta. |
What the bands mean
The two genuine plans price children differently and both publish it. Grand Mirage counts a guest as an adult from 12, gives infants aged 0 to 3 the plan free for up to two of them including a baby cot, and charges a nominal USD 55 a night for a child aged 4 to 11. Samabe covers a two-year-old's meals at no charge with limited activity and covers a four-year-old and above, without publishing an adult age at all. The upgrade prices tell you as much as the inclusions: Samabe publishes premium spirits at IDR 1,200,000 net a person a night with a two-night minimum attached, while Grand Mirage does not price its premium tier and instead restricts it to one bar for three hours a night. Neither publishes a service charge or a government tax as a percentage, and Grand Mirage quotes its own airport transfer at IDR 680,000 one way for up to four people on a different page from the one that gives the same journey away free on a four-night stay.

- Children eating
- Infants aged 0 to 3 are free on the plan for up to two of them, and a child of 4 to 11 costs USD 55 a night
- Restaurant reservations
- Not published as a per-restaurant rule, though the operator asks all-inclusive guests not to share tables with guests on other meal plans
- Right for
- A family of five who want the plan's edges written down before they book.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family meeting friends on a different rate, or one that came for jet skis.
- The catch
- The catch: It is the most transparent all-inclusive operator found anywhere in this project, and that transparency is what exposes the plan's edges. The drinks stop for ten hours a day, room-service drinks are out, and the motorised water sports Tanjung Benoa is famous for are out unless you stay long enough to earn a voucher, which children cannot use anyway. It also states that if all-inclusive guests share a table with guests on a different meal plan, the standard full rate applies.
Sawangan, Nusa Dua
Samabe Bali Suites and Villas
€€€€Best valueA Sawangan clifftop suites and villas property whose Unlimited Privilege plan carries the best exclusions list in Bali, including 24-hour room service with drinks, which its sister resort excludes.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Not published. No room-level occupancy or bed configuration appears in the all-inclusive section
- Kids club
- Kids club: Not published · Not published · Not published, and no kids club appears anywhere in the all-inclusive section
- Children eating
- A two-year-old's meals are covered at no charge with limited activity, and a child of four and above is covered on the plan
- Right for
- A family who want room service drinks and a written list of what is out.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family who need a kids club, because none is published.
- The catch
- The catch: Its FAQ is the best exclusions document in Bali and it still contradicts itself on the spa, promising spa treatments in the introduction and excluding them in the closing list. Both readings stand here because the operator publishes both. For a family the deeper problem is that everything a child receives is qualified by the phrase with limited activity, which is never defined, and no kids club is published at all.
Nusa Dua
Club Med Bali
€€€€Here as an exclusion, and it is the most important row on this page. The best-known family all-inclusive in Bali accepts no guest under 12 from 1 July 2026 to 31 May 2027, in the operator's own words.
- Room to book
- Book this room: None for a family until 1 June 2027
- Kids club
- Kids club: Not published as numbers · Not published · Not published · Closed entirely from 1 July 2026 to 31 May 2027
- Right for
- Two adults, and only until the renovation ends.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Every family with a child under 12, for the next nine months.
- The catch
- The catch: The reason is a renovation of The Agung main restaurant that takes the Mini Club and the Amazing Family! space with it, and the operator states the consequence in full: kids clubs, including teens programmes and services, will not be available, and the resort will only be able to welcome guests aged 12 and above. Note where you read it, because Club Med's Australian and Singapore sites carry the notice and its UK site does not. Beyond the closure it publishes no exclusions at all: no drink hours, no room service rule, no minibar rule and no statement of which restaurants carry a supplement.
South Kuta
Bali Dynasty Resort
€€€Here because it is the strongest family resort among those that fail the test: a genuine family property in South Kuta sold on room rates rather than a board plan.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Sold on room rates. No board plan of any kind is published
- Right for
- A family who want a Bali family resort and do not actually need a board plan.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who came to this page for an all-inclusive rate.
- The catch
- The catch: It publishes no all-inclusive rate and no meal plan, so everything beyond the room is billed as you go. It is on this page as the honest alternative for a family whose real requirement is a good family resort rather than a board plan, and it belongs on the sibling Bali family resorts page rather than this one.
Tanjung Benoa
Bali Tropic Resort and Spa
€€€Here as the clearest example of the gap between how a Bali resort is sold and what it publishes: widely marketed as all-inclusive, with no all-inclusive page anywhere on its own website.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Cannot be established. The sitemap contains six URLs, all of them room types
- Right for
- Nobody booking on published facts.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family expecting the all-inclusive rate that third-party sites advertise.
- The catch
- The catch: It is sold widely as an all-inclusive resort in Tanjung Benoa and publishes no all-inclusive page, no package page and no meal-plan page of any kind. Its own sitemap lists six URLs, every one of them a room type, and its homepage links only to rooms, restaurant, spa, pool, beach, rooftop, gallery, meetings and weddings. Whatever board plan a booking site is selling, it does not come from here.
Legian
Bali Mandira Beach Resort and Spa
€€€A Legian beach resort with a named kids club that sells a Signature Package rather than a board plan, and never uses the phrase all inclusive.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Sold on room rates and a Signature Package
- Right for
- A family who want Legian beach and a kids club on a normal rate.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who needs meals and drinks in the rate.
- The catch
- The catch: It sells a Signature Package, which is a room promotion rather than a board plan, so meals and drinks are billed as you go. The phrase all inclusive appears nowhere on its own website, which makes any third-party listing that calls it all-inclusive worth questioning before booking.
Nusa Dua
The Grand Bali Nusa Dua
€€€The single resort in this test that publishes the phrase all inclusive on its own site and attaches nothing whatsoever to it.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Cannot be established from an all-inclusive product, because none exists
- Right for
- Nobody choosing on the strength of that phrase.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family searching for a Nusa Dua all-inclusive.
- The catch
- The catch: The phrase appears once in the page source with no all-inclusive page, no package and no inclusions attached, which is the most misleading arrangement found in this test. Ten other resorts publish the phrase zero times, which is at least unambiguous.
Where not to book in Bali
Three things to settle before paying. The first is Club Med Bali, because it is the resort most families arrive at this page looking for and it accepts no guest under 12 from 1 July 2026 to 31 May 2027, on its own notice. Check which country's Club Med site you are reading, because the Australian and Singapore sites carry that notice and the UK site does not. The second is the drinks, and specifically the hours: Grand Mirage publishes a night break making beverage service unavailable from 01:00 to 11:00, keeps international spirits to one bar between 21:00 and midnight, and excludes drinks ordered through room service entirely. The third is the transfer, which neither genuine plan includes unconditionally: Grand Mirage gives it free at four nights and otherwise charges IDR 1,360,000 return for up to four people, and Samabe gives it at five nights and only on a direct booking. Note too that if a third-party site sells you a Bali all-inclusive at any resort other than these three, the operator does not publish that product, and eleven of the fourteen tested here publish nothing of the kind.
When to book
Length of stay is the lever on this page rather than season. Both genuine plans hang their best inclusions on nights: Grand Mirage gives free shared return airport transfers at four nights and a motorised water sports voucher per person at seven and again at nine, and Samabe gives a private transfer at five nights and only when booked direct on its own site. So a four-night trip and a three-night trip are different products at the same rate. Book Samabe's premium spirits upgrade with at least two consecutive nights, because the operator attaches that minimum to it. Budget the Bali tourist levy separately at IDR 150,000 a person, once per trip, since neither operator mentions it. And if the family includes a child aged 4 to 11, add Grand Mirage's USD 55 a night to every quote before comparing it with anything else.
