Which Singapore hotels have real family rooms?
York Hotel publishes the largest four-person room in the city at 46 square metres on twin queens. Amara is the best-documented operator and the only one treating connecting and adjoining as two separate questions, though it refuses to guarantee either. D'Resort at Downtown East is the only purpose-built family accommodation here and the only operator publishing a genuine physical connecting arrangement. Two hotels in this set cannot take a family at all, and both publish it clearly.
Which rooms actually fit your family
Find your party shape along the top, then read down. A tick means the hotel publishes a room that holds that group in one booking. A dash means the hotel does not publish the fact at all, which is not the same as a no, and is why the column exists.

Singapore inverts the usual pattern in this research. Eleven of these twelve publish a maximum occupancy on at least one room type, and the numbers are specific enough to act on, which is better than Rome, Toronto or Montreal managed. What Singapore withholds is the door. Not one of the twelve sells a room pair a family can book with a door between them, and all three operators that raise the subject attach a condition that voids it: Amara refuses to guarantee it and treats connecting and adjoining as the same answer, Dorsett sells it only inside a package while publishing nothing above three people, and Grand Park City Hall prints both words for the same room on the same page. Two of the twelve publish a cot policy and both say free, one publishes that it has no cot at all, and the other nine say nothing.
These are family facts, and family facts go stale. This table is set for re-verification in March 2027.
Which one fits how your family travels
Find the row that sounds like your trip. Every pick below names the family it is wrong for, so you can book on fit rather than on rank.
| If you are | Book | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Four people wanting real floor space | York Hotel Singapore | The largest published four-person room in the city at 46 square metres on twin queens. |
| Here for the water park | D'Resort @ Downtown East | The only purpose-built family accommodation here, with Wild Wild Wet next door. |
| Travelling with a baby | Amara Singapore | Free cots on request, and the most straightforward operator in the set about its own policies. |
| Wanting the floor back during the day | Concorde Hotel Singapore | The only Murphy-bed family room found in Singapore, a king plus twin Murphy beds. |
| Three people wanting the shortest station walk | Orchid Hotel Singapore | A measured three minutes to Tanjong Pagar, with occupancy published per bed configuration. |

What the bands mean
Occupancy here is a contractual cap rather than a question of space, and the clearest proof is Hotel Ora at Resorts World Sentosa, which publishes two adults and two children on a 32 square metre Deluxe Room and the identical figure on a 64 square metre Deluxe Suite. Doubling the floor buys no extra person. The same pattern runs through the set from the other end: Hotel Boss fits four people into a published 19 square metres while York publishes 46 for the same party, a factor of two and a half. On money, only two of the twelve publish what an extra bed costs and both restrict it, only one publishes a breakfast price and it is adults only, and not one publishes an age at which a child stays free.

The 12 hotels, and the room to ask for at each
Walking times are to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address. Every station walk here is measured on OpenStreetMap foot routing from the operator's own published address, and the measurements matter because the hotels' own claims run optimistic. PARKROYAL on Beach Road publishes that Nicoll Highway is about five minutes away; it measures 572 metres and 8 minutes. York Hotel publishes no walk at all and is a measured 14 minutes from Orchard MRT, uphill, which in Singapore humidity with children is a different proposition from the number.
Mount Elizabeth, off Orchard Road
York Hotel Singapore
€€€Best for fourThe largest published four-person room in the city at 46 square metres on twin queen beds, one street back from Orchard Road at Mount Elizabeth.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Deluxe Family Room, twin queens, 46 square metres
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 14 minutes uphill to Orchard MRT, which the hotel does not publish at all to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- A family of four who want genuine floor space and the Orchard shopping belt.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who assumed Orchard Road meant a short walk to the station.
- The catch
- The catch: It sells itself on Orchard Road and is a measured fourteen minutes from Orchard station, which is a long uphill walk in Singapore humidity with tired children. It publishes nothing about cots.
Pasir Ris, in the Downtown East complex
D'Resort @ Downtown East
€Best valueThe only purpose-built family accommodation in the set, and the only operator publishing a genuine physical connecting arrangement, with the Wild Wild Wet water park next door as its water rather than a hotel pool.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Park View, two queen beds and a balcony
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 24 minutes to Pasir Ris MRT, the longest station walk here to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- A family whose trip is the water park and the east coast rather than the city.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone basing themselves for Marina Bay or Orchard.
- The catch
- The catch: It is twenty-four measured minutes from the nearest MRT at the far eastern end of the island, so it is a base for the water park rather than for Singapore. Its connecting arrangement carries a hard physical condition attached to ground-floor Beach Cove rooms.
Tanjong Pagar
Amara Singapore
€€The best-documented operator here on policy, and the only one that treats connecting and adjoining as two separate questions. It answers both the same way, which is at least honest.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Deluxe Family Room, two queen beds at 200 by 150 cm
- Breakfast for children
- A breakfast price is published and it is adults only
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 5 minutes to Tanjong Pagar MRT to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- A family of four who want a free cot and an operator that answers questions plainly.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who needs a connecting pair guaranteed at booking.
- The catch
- The catch: It has exactly one room type for four people and publishes no size for it, so a family cannot tell how much floor two queen beds leave behind. Its FAQ asks about interconnecting and adjoining rooms as separate questions and gives both the same answer: availability decided on arrival.
Orchard Road at Somerset
Concorde Hotel Singapore
€€The only Murphy-bed family product found in Singapore, a king plus twin Murphy beds at the Somerset end of Orchard Road.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Family Room, a king plus twin Murphy beds
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 6 minutes to Somerset MRT to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- A family of four who want the floor back during the day, which is what Murphy beds buy you.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone booking the club rate expecting the children to use it.
- The catch
- The catch: The Premier Club rate that includes lounge breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks is closed to the children it would otherwise suit, which the hotel publishes on its facilities page rather than beside the rate.
Tras Link, Tanjong Pagar
Orchid Hotel Singapore
€€Publishes occupancy more granularly than anything else in the set, tied to each individual bed configuration rather than to the room type, at Tras Link in Tanjong Pagar.
- Room to book
- Book this room: A three-person configuration, since nothing here takes four
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 3 minutes to Tanjong Pagar MRT, the shortest here to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- Two adults and one child who want the shortest station walk in this set.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family of four, at any price, in any room.
- The catch
- The catch: Nothing here takes a family of four. Its 40 square metre Orchid Suite is capped at two adults, so the floor area is irrelevant to the question.
Victoria Street, opposite Bugis
Hotel Grand Pacific
€€Opposite Bugis on Victoria Street, publishing a room designed for families and groups whose only stated bed configuration is a twin.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Deluxe Triple, though only two bed places are published for it
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 9 minutes to Bugis MRT to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- Two adults and a small child who want Bugis and the Bras Basah museums on foot.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who needs to know what the third person sleeps on.
- The catch
- The catch: The room called a Deluxe Triple publishes two bed places and no occupancy, which makes it the least resolvable family room in the set: you cannot tell from the site whether three people fit or where the third one goes.
Coleman Street, City Hall
Grand Park City Hall
€€€Here for the cleanest single-page illustration of the adjoining-versus-connecting confusion anywhere in this research: it prints both terms for the same room on the same page.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Family Suite, one king plus one queen
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- The hotel publishes a four-minute walk to City Hall MRT to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- A family who want a City Hall address and will telephone to resolve the room question.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone booking on the strength of the word connecting.
- The catch
- The catch: It publishes a family suite at several hundred dollars a night without ever saying how many people may sleep in it, and tags the same room both Adjoining Rooms and Connecting Rooms on one page. Those are different products and the page cannot decide which it is selling.
Jalan Sultan
Hotel Boss
€The densest four-person room in the set at a published 19 square metres, and the only operator anywhere in this research to publish that it has no baby cot available.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Family with balcony, two queen beds
- Breakfast for children
- Children under 6 eat breakfast free, which is the closest thing here to a child age rule
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 6 minutes to Lavender MRT to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- A family of four on the tightest budget who will be out of the room all day.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone travelling with a baby, because there is no cot at any price.
- The catch
- The catch: Four people, two queen beds and one bathroom in 19 square metres is 4.75 square metres a person, and there is no cot available at all. The pool page also publishes that there is no lifeguard on duty.
New Bridge Road, above Outram Park
Dorsett Singapore
€€Sells guaranteed connecting rooms inside a family package while publishing no room type that holds more than three people, above Outram Park.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Family Getaway package rather than a room, if you need two rooms
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 4 minutes to Outram Park MRT to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- A family taking the package, who want the shortest station walk in the set.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone trying to book connecting rooms as a room type rather than as a package.
- The catch
- The catch: Its largest published room holds three people, so the guaranteed connecting rooms in its Family Getaway package are not a bookable room product: you have to buy the package to get the arrangement, and the hotel never publishes it as a room type.
Beach Road at Crawford
PARKROYAL on Beach Road
€€Sells a room called a Family Room and publishes no occupancy for it, with a bed configuration of a king and a single.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Family Room, a king and a single, three sleeping places
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- The hotel claims about five minutes to Nicoll Highway; measured 572 metres and 8 minutes to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- Two adults and one child near Bugis and the Arts District.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family of four, on the published bed count alone.
- The catch
- The catch: The room named Family Room contains a king and a single, which is three sleeping places, and the hotel publishes no maximum occupancy on any of its seven room types. Its own walking claim is optimistic by nearly half.
Resorts World Sentosa
Hotel Ora, Resorts World Sentosa
€€€Here as the plainest proof in this research that occupancy is a contract rather than a measure of space: the same maximum on a 32 square metre room and a 64 square metre suite.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Deluxe Room, since the suite holds no more people
- Breakfast for children
- Not published
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Not measured, because the hotel publishes no street address to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- A family of four doing Sentosa who do not need the extra floor area.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family of five, who have nothing here at any size or price.
- The catch
- The catch: Doubling the room from 32 to 64 square metres does not add a person, so a family of five has no option at this hotel at all, and paying for the suite buys space rather than capacity.
Bras Basah Road
Rendezvous Hotel Singapore
€€The hardest no in the set, and it publishes it clearly: six room types, every one capped at two people, including a 53 square metre suite.
- Room to book
- Book this room: None. There is no configuration here for a family.
- Breakfast for children
- Not published separately
- Walk to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Measured 4 minutes to Bras Basah MRT to the nearest MRT station, measured from the hotel's published address
- Right for
- Two adults who want Bras Basah and the museums.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Every family, and the room list says so if you read it.
- The catch
- The catch: Every room type including the 53 square metre suite caps at two people, so a couple with one child cannot book here. It is on this page because it appears in Singapore family searches and the cap is easy to miss.
Where not to book in Singapore
Three things. First, do not pay for floor area expecting capacity: Hotel Ora publishes the same maximum on a 32 square metre room and a 64 square metre suite, and Orchid caps a 40 square metre suite at two adults. Occupancy in Singapore is a contract, not a measure of space. Second, check the ceiling before you fall for a hotel: Rendezvous caps all six of its room types at two people including a 53 square metre suite, and Dorsett publishes nothing above three, and both appear in Singapore family searches. Third, treat the word connecting with suspicion here. Grand Park City Hall tags the same room both Adjoining Rooms and Connecting Rooms on one page, Amara answers the interconnecting and adjoining questions identically with availability decided on arrival, and Dorsett only guarantees it inside a package. If a door matters, D'Resort is the one operator publishing a genuine physical arrangement, and even that carries a ground-floor condition.
When to book
Family rooms are a thin slice of stock at every one of these hotels and there is effectively one supplier of a genuinely large four-person room, so book York well ahead if floor space is the priority. Singapore has no low season in the usual sense, but the Formula One weekend in September and the Chinese New Year period are when central rates move most and the family categories vanish first. Because so few operators publish a cot price and one publishes that it has none at all, confirm a cot in writing at booking rather than on arrival. And if you need two rooms, ask for the arrangement by email: no hotel here will sell you a connecting pair as a room type.
