Family Friendly Hotels in Singapore, Sorted by What the Room Actually Holds
Best for a family of four: Furama RiverFront, SingaporeFourteen Singapore hotels were checked against their own websites in August 2026. Four of them have no room a family of four can legally book, including two whose room is actually called a Family Room. Only two state in writing that a door connects two rooms. Everything below starts from the room configuration rather than the rank, because in a city of small rooms that is the part that decides whether you book one room or two.
Which hotels in Singapore actually fit a family?
For two adults and two children, the Furama RiverFront is the most completely documented hotel in the city: its Premier Family Room publishes four adults on one queen and two single bunk beds, children under 12 stay free on existing bedding, and the extra bed is priced at 60 dollars net. For five or six in one booking, Hotel Michael's 2 Bedroom Deluxe Suite publishes a maximum of six adults across 175 square metres. Ignore both if you want a written connecting door, because only two of the fourteen hotels checked here name one.
Which rooms actually fit your family
Find your party shape along the top, then read down. A tick means the hotel publishes a room that holds that group in one booking. A dash means the hotel does not publish the fact at all, which is not the same as a no, and is why the column exists.

Every tick and every figure comes from the hotel's own website, checked in August 2026, except where a chain blocks automated access, in which case the facts are read from dated archive captures of that operator's own pages and the dates are recorded. Shangri-La, IHG, Four Seasons, Accor, Resorts World, Banyan Tree and Millennium all had to be read that way. A dash means the operator publishes nothing, which is not the same as a no. Singapore publishes occupancy better than most cities, but it publishes cot prices almost not at all: only two of the fourteen say anything about a cot, and both say free rather than name a price. The connecting column is strict. A tick means the hotel names a door, so Far East's own line about a family room being two individual but connected rooms is recorded as unverified, and so is Oasia's interconnecting rooms, because neither operator ever says door.
These are family facts, and family facts go stale. This table is set for re-verification in March 2027.
Which one fits how your family travels
Find the row that sounds like your trip. Every pick below names the family it is wrong for, so you can book on fit rather than on rank.
| If you are | Book | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Two adults and one child | Novotel Singapore on Stevens | Up to two children under 16 get both the bed and the buffet breakfast free, which no other hotel here matches. |
| Two adults and two children in one room | Furama RiverFront, Singapore | The Premier Family Room publishes four adults on a queen and two single bunk beds, and children under 12 stay free on existing bedding. |
| Five or six people wanting one booking | Hotel Michael, Resorts World Sentosa | Its 2 Bedroom Deluxe Suite publishes a maximum of six adults, or four adults and four children, across 175 square metres. |
| Set on a genuine door between the rooms | Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, or Shangri-La Singapore | These are the only two hotels of fourteen that put the words inter-connecting door in writing, and both sell the pair as one bookable product. |
| Here for the zoo and the night safari | Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree | A measured 22 minutes on foot from the zoo gate, free cots, and a kids club that runs 8:00am to 6:00pm without shutting for lunch. |
| Here for water, with children who cannot swim yet | Village Hotel Sentosa | Four themed pools including a children's play pool and a lazy river, which beats a single deep lap pool. Check the Pamukkale closure dates first. |

What the bands mean
Singapore is the rare city with no tourist tax at all: no bed tax, no city tax, no per-night levy. What it has instead is the double plus. A rate quoted as 200++ means the hotel adds its service charge, typically 10 percent, and then charges 9 percent GST on the new subtotal, so the tax lands on the service charge too. The tax office's own worked example runs 100.00, plus 10.00 service, subtotal 110.00, plus 9.90 GST, total 119.90. That is 19.9 percent on top rather than 19, and hotels are specifically allowed to advertise the pre-tax number. The other line to check is the extra bed, because four of these hotels publish a price for one and it is not small: 100 dollars a room a night at Hotel Michael, 110 plus tax and service at the Four Seasons, 90 at Carlton City, and 60 or 110 net at the Furama depending on room type.

The 14 hotels, and the room to ask for at each
Walking times are to Gardens by the Bay. Measured in August 2026 on OpenStreetMap foot routing at about 4.3 km/h from each hotel's own published address, with each hotel's own published walk to its nearest MRT station given alongside. The measured figures are here to make one point rather than to plan by: almost nothing in Singapore is walkable between attractions. The closest hotel in this set to Gardens by the Bay is 27 minutes on foot and the rest run from 43 minutes to more than five hours, the Mandai resort sits 24 km from the bay and 22 minutes from the zoo, and Sentosa is its own island. In 32 degrees with children, the number that matters is the walk to the train, not the walk to the sight.

Havelock and the river
Furama RiverFront, Singapore
€€Best for fourA hotel on Havelock Road near Great World City, and the best publisher of family facts in Singapore. It gives a maximum occupancy on every room type, it puts real bunk beds rather than a sofa in the Premier Family Room, it prices the extra bed, it prices the child breakfast, and it names the age at which children stay free. The Theme Suite is two separate bedrooms published for two adults and three children.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Premier Family Room for four on a queen and two bunks, or the Theme Suite for five
- Children stay free
- Children under 12 stay free using existing bedding
- Breakfast for children
- 15 dollars plus service and tax per child, and free under 5 on the executive floors
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- Havelock MRT is a published 5 minutes from the door. Gardens by the Bay is a measured 58 minutes on foot at 4,377 m, which is what the MRT is for to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family of four or five who want every number settled in writing before they pay.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who needs a confirmed connecting door, or a pool with a shallow end.
- The catch
- The catch: The Family Room and Premier Family Room are sold for four adults inside 30 to 32 square metres, the same footprint as the hotel's ordinary rooms, so four people are sharing the space of a standard double. The pool is a uniform 1.2 metres deep with no shallower children's pool, and the kids provision is an unstaffed play area by reception with no published hours.

Resorts World Sentosa
Hotel Michael, Resorts World Sentosa
€€€The Michael Graves hotel inside Resorts World, and the answer in this city for five or six people in one booking. Three suite types publish a maximum of six adults, or four adults and four children: the 2 Bedroom Deluxe Suite at 175 square metres, the Premium version at 200, and the Presidential at 235. Children 12 and under stay free on existing beds.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The 2 Bedroom Deluxe Suite, a king plus two super singles across 175 square metres
- Children stay free
- Children twelve and under stay free when using the existing beds
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- The resort's own route is the MRT to HarbourFront, VivoCity Level 3, then the Sentosa Express to Resorts World station. Gardens by the Bay is not a walk from here to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family of five or six who want one room, and who came for Sentosa rather than for the city.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who wants to swim, at least while the works last.
- The catch
- The catch: The hotel is mid-renovation with no published end date, and the resort states in writing that the pool and gym on Level 3 are closed and that some daytime noise may be expected. A family who booked a Sentosa resort for the swimming has to walk to another hotel for it.

Sentosa, Siloso Beach
Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, Singapore
€€€The only beachfront resort on Sentosa, and one of just two hotels in this set that names a connecting door. It sells two connecting-room products, both stating that two rooms come with an inter-connecting door, both published for four adults and two children under 12. There is a separate children's pool with water slides and a splash pad, and a supervised kids club.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Two Superior Hill View Rooms Connecting, which is the door plus a king and two singles
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- The hotel publishes no nearest MRT. HarbourFront station is a measured 52 minutes on foot at 4,268 m, so the Sentosa Express or bus 123 is the way in to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family who want the beach, a supervised kids club and a real door between the bedrooms.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone doing the city rather than the island, and anyone who wants children in proper beds.
- The catch
- The catch: Both rooms the hotel actually calls family put the children on fold-out bedding rather than real beds: the Family Garden Room's own bed line is a king or two singles plus an additional sofa bed for two children. The resort also publishes no cot price, no pool opening hours and no height minimum for the slides.

Orange Grove and the Botanic Gardens
Shangri-La Singapore
€€€€The Orange Grove Road hotel beside the Botanic Gardens, and the other property that names a door: its Two Tower Wing Deluxe Rooms Connecting lists an interconnecting door between two rooms as a feature and sells it as its own 76 square metre product. The themed family suites join two rooms with a tunnel, and Splash is a 1,300 square metre outdoor water playground.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Two Tower Wing Deluxe Rooms Connecting, for the published door
- Breakfast for children
- Up to two children aged 6 and under eat the buffet free, but only for Shangri-La Circle members
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- No station is a short walk. The hotel tells guests to alight at Orchard and take its shuttle from Exit 7. Gardens by the Bay is a measured 85 minutes at 6,336 m to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family who want a serious water playground and the one connecting door on the mainland.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who needs the MRT on foot, or an extra bed in the family room.
- The catch
- The catch: The Tower Wing Deluxe Family Room states plainly that due to space limitations no extra bed can be accommodated, so the room named family is the one that cannot grow. The kids club is also the only one here that charges, at 45 dollars per child for three hours, and it runs two sessions with a thirty-minute gap rather than staying open through the day.

Orchard Boulevard
Four Seasons Hotel Singapore
€€€€The Orchard Boulevard luxury hotel, with the widest set of four-person layouts in the city: a 58 square metre Premier Family Room on two queen beds published for four, plus club suites that take four and a Two-Bedroom Club Suite published for seven. It is also one of the few hotels anywhere that prints an extra-bed price, though only on its specialty suites.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Premier Family Room, two queens across 58 square metres
- Breakfast for children
- Not published. A free kid-friendly menu is offered at some restaurants for children under 5
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- The hotel publishes no nearest MRT anywhere. Gardens by the Bay is a measured 75 minutes on foot at 5,650 m to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family of four who want two queen beds and 58 square metres rather than a sofa bed.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families whose children swim in the evening.
- The catch
- The catch: The pool children can actually use closes early. The 20th-floor family pool runs 9:30am to 7:00pm, while the third-floor lap and quiet pool that opens at 6:30am carries a published minimum age of 12, so an evening swim after a hot day is not available to younger children.

Marina Bay
PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore
€€€The garden hotel at Marina Centre with sheltered walkways into three malls, and the closest bed in this set to Gardens by the Bay. Cots are free, there is a 25 metre pool on Level 5 open until 10:30pm, and Gnomey Hollows on Level 4 is a free playroom for children up to 12, open 9am to 9pm. The two Gnome rooms add a bunk bed to a king.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Gnome's Burrow or Treehouse, for the king plus bunk configuration
- Children stay free
- One child only. A maximum of one child under 12 may share the room free on existing bedding
- Breakfast for children
- 21 dollars plus service and tax for children aged 6 to 12, with no band published for under-6s
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- Esplanade station is a published 7 minutes and Promenade 10. Gardens by the Bay is a measured 27 minutes at 2,005 m, the shortest here to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family with one child who want the bay, the malls and a free playroom in the building.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Two adults with two children, because the free-child policy stops at one.
- The catch
- The catch: The child policy allows exactly one free child under 12, so a family of four pays for the second child even on existing bedding. The Family Room is also capped at up to three adults despite being 63 to 66 square metres, and the two Gnome rooms publish bed configurations without ever publishing an occupancy number.

Mandai
Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree
€€€€The resort inside the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a measured 22 minutes on foot from the Singapore Zoo gate. Seven room types are published at four people with a king and a built-in bunk bed, cots are free, and the Rangers' Club runs daily 8:00am to 6:00pm, to 7:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays, with no lunchtime closure.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Family Sanctuary or Family Rainforest, 44 square metres with a king and a bunk
- Children stay free
- One child under 6 per room shares existing bedding free and gets free breakfast
- Breakfast for children
- Free for one child under 6. Children 6 to 12 dine at 50 percent off, and 13 and over pay adult prices
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- No MRT is within walking distance and the operator says so. The published routes are Springleaf then bus 138, or Khatib then the shuttle. The zoo is a measured 22 minutes at 1,668 m to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family whose trip is really about the zoo and the night safari.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone without a car who also wants to see the city.
- The catch
- The catch: Getting here without a car is genuinely awkward, and it is 24 km and more than five hours on foot from Gardens by the Bay, so this is a base for the reserve rather than for Singapore. The operator also contradicts itself on the Family Retreat, with the index card saying four people and the room page saying three adults or two adults and one child, and its two 63 square metre treehouses cap at three despite the name and the price.

Sentosa, Palawan Ridge
Oasia Resort Sentosa
€€€A wellness resort on Palawan Ridge, a published two minutes from Imbiah station. Its Premier Family Room is sold as interconnecting rooms with two bathrooms and freestanding tubs, and the Family Suite is a king plus a separate living room reaching three adults and two children with a sofa bed and an extra bed.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Premier Family Room, for the interconnecting pair and two bathrooms
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- Imbiah station is a published 2 minutes on foot, reached by the Sentosa Express to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family who want Sentosa with two bathrooms and a quieter setting than Resorts World.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Small children who want a pool they can stand up in.
- The catch
- The catch: Oasia's own water is a single 22.5 metre lap pool, and it publishes no children's pool at the resort at all. The four themed family pools, including the children's play pool and the lazy river, belong to Village Hotel Sentosa next door rather than to Oasia. The hotel says interconnecting but never says door.

Sentosa, Palawan Ridge
Village Hotel Sentosa
€€The Palawan Ridge hotel with the best water on the island for children: a Level 3 pool deck with four themed pools, including a children's play pool, an adventure pool and a lazy river, open 7am to 8pm. Both its family rooms publish a maximum of four persons including adults and children.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Deluxe Family Room, which adds a second vanity and bathroom
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- Imbiah station is a published 3 minutes on foot, reached by the Sentosa Express from VivoCity to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family of four who came for the pools and want Sentosa without resort prices.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families of five, and anyone travelling before mid-November 2026.
- The catch
- The catch: One of the four pools, the Pamukkale, is adults-only, and the hotel has published that it is closed from 18 August to 16 November 2026, which covers the near term. The hotel also publishes no bed types at all for either family room, describing them only as connecting rooms, so what four people sleep on is never stated.

Stevens Road and Tanglin
Novotel Singapore on Stevens
€€Best valueA garden-set hotel on Stevens Road sharing a site with its sister Mercure, with an infinity pool and a lap pool. Its value for families is a brand policy rather than a room: accommodation and buffet breakfast are free for up to two children under 16 sharing their parents' room, which is the most generous published child terms in this set.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The 48 square metre Premier Suite, the only room type here published for four
- Children stay free
- Up to two children under 16 stay free sharing their parents' room, as a brand policy
- Breakfast for children
- Buffet breakfast free for up to two children under 16 sharing their parents' room
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- Accor lists Stevens and Orchard stations as nearby without publishing a walking time to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- Two adults and one or two children under 16 who want breakfast and the bed included.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family of four hoping to use a standard room.
- The catch
- The catch: Every standard room is 24 square metres with a published maximum of three persons, which rules out a family of four outright, so the free-children policy only helps you in the 48 square metre Premier Suite. The generous child terms are published as a Novotel brand policy rather than on the property page itself.

Katong and Marine Parade
Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality
€A hotel in Katong among the Peranakan shophouses, a published three minutes from Marine Parade station on the Thomson-East Coast line, with an outdoor pool on Level 4. It is the pick for a family who want the east coast and hawker food rather than the tourist centre.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Family Room, on two queen beds, but confirm the occupancy before you pay
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- Marine Parade MRT is a published 3 minutes. Gardens by the Bay is a measured 85 minutes at 6,374 m to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- A family who want a neighbourhood, the beach at East Coast Park and a station on the doorstep.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who wants the occupancy question settled in writing, or a club room with children.
- The catch
- The catch: The room called a Family Room has two queen beds and a room card that reads maximum two adults, and the hotel's own booking widget caps it there too, so the family room and the couple's room are published as the same thing. The club floor and lounge are also closed to anyone aged 12 or under, which the hotel states twice.

Bugis
Village Hotel Bugis by Far East Hospitality
€A hotel three minutes from Bugis station with a rooftop pool, in the best-connected budget pocket of the city. It publishes an occupancy on its rooms, and the number it publishes is the reason it is on this page.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Nothing fits a family of four. Two rooms is the only configuration available
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- Bugis MRT is a published 3 minutes. Gardens by the Bay is a measured 44 minutes at 3,283 m to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- Two adults and one child who want two MRT lines and cheap hawker food downstairs.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family of four, whatever the room is called.
- The catch
- The catch: The room the hotel calls a Family Room is 32 square metres and capped at a maximum of three persons including adults and children, which is exactly the same size and exactly the same cap as its Superior and its Deluxe. Paying for the family name buys nothing, and no connecting-room statement exists anywhere on the site.

Tanjong Pagar
Carlton City Hotel Singapore
€€A tower in Tanjong Pagar on the edge of Chinatown, with a Level 3 outdoor pool at 1.2 metres deep. Its FAQ answers the connecting-room question yes and directs you to reservations, and it prices its extra bed, which most hotels here do not.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Nothing takes four. Every room type is published at two guests
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- The hotel publishes only that it is within walking distance of Tanjong Pagar MRT. Gardens by the Bay is a measured 43 minutes at 3,224 m to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- Two adults and one child on an extra bed who want the CBD and Chinatown on foot.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family of four, who need two rooms here.
- The catch
- The catch: Every published room type is capped at two guests, including the 64 square metre Carlton Suite, so the only route to three is the 90 dollar extra bed and there is no route to four in one room. The hotel also contradicts itself on the pool closing time, saying 10:30pm in the FAQ and 10:00pm on the pool page.

Orchard Road
voco Orchard Singapore
€€€A hotel on the Orchard Road strip a published 200 metres from Orchard station, with a 12 metre rooftop pool on level 24. It is the most central address in this set and the least usable room list.
- Room to book
- Book this room: No room type here is published as sleeping four
- Walk to Gardens by the Bay
- Orchard MRT is a published 0.2 km. Gardens by the Bay is a measured 74 minutes at 5,571 m to Gardens by the Bay
- Right for
- Two adults who want Orchard Road at the door and a rooftop pool.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Any family that needs more than two beds.
- The catch
- The catch: Every room and suite on the operator's list is one king or two twins with no sofa bed, the largest standard room is 37 square metres, and no maximum occupancy is published anywhere, so there is no room type a family of four can point at. IHG also blocks automated access and the archive holds no 2026 capture of the room pages, so even the occupancy gap could not be closed.
Where not to book in Singapore
The trap in Singapore is the word family. Four of the fourteen hotels here cannot house two adults and two children in one room, and two of them sell a room called a Family Room anyway. Village Hotel Bugis prices a 32 square metre Family Room that caps at three people, exactly the same size and cap as its Superior and its Deluxe. Village Hotel Katong's Family Room has two queen beds and a room card reading maximum two adults. Carlton City caps every room type at two guests including its 64 square metre suite, and voco Orchard publishes no room that sleeps four at all. None of these are bad hotels; they are simply not able to take your family in one room, and the room name will not tell you. The second thing to check is the pool, because two of these are shut right now. Hotel Michael's pool and gym are closed for renovation with no published end date, and Village Hotel Sentosa's Pamukkale pool is published as closed from 18 August to 16 November 2026, though that one is adults-only in any case. And do not assume the free-child policy covers all your children: PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay allows exactly one child under 12 to share free, and Mandai's free breakfast covers one child under 6 per room.
When to book
Book the room shape before the dates, because Singapore's rooms are small and its family inventory is narrower than the hotel count suggests. Only three hotels here publish anything above four people in one unit, and one of them is mid-renovation. If you need a connecting door in writing, your list is two hotels long. The other thing to sort in advance is the transport card, because a child's free travel here is a height rule rather than an age one: a child travels free only if they are under seven and no taller than 0.9 metres, and above that height a free fare needs a Child Concession Card collected in person at a SimplyGo Ticket Office. That card is genuinely available to visiting families, since the published conditions are height, age and school status with no residency requirement and a passport is accepted, but it means a queue on your first morning rather than something you can arrange from home. If Sentosa is the point of the trip, note that walking in over the linkway is free and children under seven ride the Sentosa Express free with an adult, so the 4 dollar fare is an adults-only cost.
