In Brief
What is the best hotel for families in Menorca?
Royal Son Bou Family Club in Son Bou is the strongest all-round answer, in the €€ band. Its two-bedroom apartments give children their own room, cots are free, the kids club takes babies from birth and the published prices include up to two children free. For value, SOL Milanos Pingüinos sits directly on the same beach with all inclusive.
Key takeaways
- Child prices run from two children free at Royal Son Bou to the adult rate from age 2 at Zafiro Menorca
- Six of the twelve publish a room or connecting pair that takes five or more people
- The three Melia-group hotels publish no maximum occupancy for any room
- The Balearic tourist tax is charged per adult per night, and every guest under 16 is exempt
Which rooms actually fit your family
Find your party shape along the top, then read down. A tick means the hotel publishes a room that holds that group in one booking. A dash means the hotel does not publish the fact at all, which is not the same as a no, and is why the column exists.

Every tick and figure comes from the hotel's own website or its group's website, read on 3 October 2026. A dash means the operator publishes nothing, which is not the same as a no. The occupancy columns are strict: a tick needs a published maximum or an adult and child split, so the three Melia-group hotels show dashes even where a room plainly has four beds, because none of them states how many people may sleep in it. Five-person ticks count a connecting pair sold as one product, as at Palladium Hotel Menorca. Several operators contradict themselves and the conflicting readings are kept in the text rather than averaged: Royal Son Bou sells the Kiko Royal as five people on its listing card and six on its own page, Palladium's fact sheet and FAQ give different main pool sizes, and two Melia pages give different kids club ages for Meliá Cala Galdana. Adults-only hotels were excluded, and one candidate in Es Castell was dropped for that reason.
These are family facts, and family facts go stale. This table is set for re-verification in April 2027.
Which one fits how your family travels
Find the row that sounds like your trip. Every pick below names the family it is wrong for, so you can book on fit rather than on rank.
| If you are | Book | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Bringing a baby or a toddler | Royal Son Bou Family Club | The Babyclub takes children from 0 to 2, cots and high chairs are free, and Magikland looks after under-4s during lunch and dinner. |
| Five or six in one booking | Insotel Punta Prima Resort & Spa, or MarSenses Paradise Club Hotel | Insotel's two-bedroom apartment takes six with two double beds. MarSenses has 12 two-bedroom apartments for five adults and one child, with real beds in both rooms. |
| Set on a door between parents and children | Palladium Hotel Menorca, or Meliá Cala Galdana | Palladium sells Connecting Deluxe rooms by name for four adults and two children. Meliá Cala Galdana's Connected Room is two connecting bedrooms on the beach. |
| Counting what each child costs | MarSenses Paradise Club Hotel | It publishes 28 euro a night for ages 3 to 12 and a free cot, where Zafiro Menorca and Palladium Hotel Menorca charge the adult rate from age 2 and 3. |
| Two families travelling together | FERGUS Club Carema Splash | Its 60 square metre three-bedroom apartment is published as 6 + 2, the largest unit on this page, 50 metres from Platges de Fornells beach. |
| After all inclusive on the sand for less | SOL Milanos Pingüinos | It is a three-star with direct access to Son Bou beach, published all inclusive and clubs from 8 months, though it publishes no room occupancy. |
| Wanting a town base rather than a resort | Catalonia Mirador des Port | It is ten minutes on foot from Mahon's historic centre, gives a free cot and puts children in bunk beds, but the pool shuts from 31 October to 24 March. |

What the bands mean
None of these hotels publishes a fixed nightly rate, so the bands below are relative tiers rather than quotes. What is published, and what changes the bill more than the band, is the price of a child. Royal Son Bou says the prices on its site already include up to two children free. Insotel Punta Prima says children up to 11 stay free sharing with two adults. MarSenses Paradise Club charges 28 euro a night for ages 3 to 12. Palladium Hotel Menorca charges the adult rate from age 3, and Zafiro Menorca from age 2. Then there is the Balearic sustainable tourism tax, read off the Balearic tourism agency's own calculator on 3 October 2026. From 1 May to 31 October it is 3 euro a person a night in a four-star hotel and 4 euro in a five-star, plus 10 percent VAT, falling to 0.75 and 1 euro from November to April. Every guest under 16 is exempt, and the tax halves from the ninth day of a stay in the same hotel, so two adults and two children under 16 in a four-star in August pay tax for the two adults only.

The 12 hotels, and the room to ask for at each
Walking times are to each hotel's nearest named beach. Menorca's hotels sit in separate resorts round the coast, so each hotel is measured to its own nearest beach rather than to one point on the island. Every figure is the operator's own. Where the operator gives metres, minutes are worked out at 1.25 metres a second, about 4.5 km/h. Several operators contradict themselves and both readings are given: Zafiro Menorca says 900 metres, 500 metres and a few metres on three different pages, Minura Sur Menorca says a few metres and a 20-minute walk on the same page, and Insotel Punta Prima says both just metres and 300 metres. Catalonia Mirador des Port is the one town hotel here, in Mahon, and publishes no beach distance at all.

Son Bou
Royal Son Bou Family Club
€€Rated 4.6 out of 5 on Google Maps from 1,277 reviews, as of October 2026Best for fourA family-specialist aparthotel of one and two-bedroom apartments on the south coast, 100 metres from Son Bou beach with its own tunnel under the road to the sand. It is the most complete publisher of family facts on the island: every apartment type carries an adult and child split, bed sizes are given to the centimetre, cots and high chairs are free, and the Kikoland club runs age groups from a Babyclub for 0 to 2 up to a Teenyclub for 13 to 17.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Cuqui Royal, two bedrooms and two bathrooms for up to five, with the children in a room of their own
- Children stay free
- The published prices already include up to two children free
- Breakfast for children
- Half board or all inclusive, with a children's buffet in both restaurants and no separate child meal price
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- About 2 minutes to Son Bou beach, from the operator's figure of 100 metres, through a tunnel under the road to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- Parents of young children who want a kids club from birth, a children's bedroom and the beach through a tunnel.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who needs step-free access, because the operator says access is by stairs and publishes no lift.
- The catch
- The catch: Access to the apartments is by stairs: the hotel says the apartments have easy access by stairs and that most ground-floor apartments still have a few steps, and it publishes no lift. There is no hotel car park, only a public one 50 metres from the entrance. The beds in the children's bedroom are 1.80 m long, fine for children and short for a tall teenager, and the Kiko Royal is sold as five people on its listing card and six on its own page.

Punta Prima
Insotel Punta Prima Resort & Spa
€€€Rated 4.1 out of 5 on Google Maps from 1,106 reviews, as of October 2026A five-star all-inclusive resort at Punta Prima on the south-east tip, with the Insi Splash Park that opened in 2024, separate pools for young children and babies, and family suites up to 84 square metres with a rooftop jacuzzi. It says children up to 11 stay free when sharing with two adults, and cots are free on request.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Superior Apartment 2 Bedrooms, 55 square metres for up to six and the only type here with two double beds
- Children stay free
- Children up to 11 free sharing with two adults, per the FAQ, though the benefits page says only on certain dates and conditions
- Breakfast for children
- All Inclusive Gold covers breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet, which has a children's mini buffet
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Under 5 minutes to Punta Prima beach on the operator's figure of 300 metres, though the same site also says just metres to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- A family of five or six who want a splash park, all inclusive and a free child rate in one booking.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Parents who want to leave children at a kids club for the day, because sessions are 75 minutes and capped at two a day.
- The catch
- The catch: The Insi Club is not all-day childcare. It needs registration in advance and allows up to two 75-minute sessions a day, subject to availability, and the teen club for 13 to 16 runs only in peak season. Every family suite puts the extra sleepers on sofa beds, so only the two-bedroom apartment gives four people real beds. The in-room safe costs 17 euro a week.

Biniancolla, by Punta Prima
Minura Sur Menorca
€Rated 4.3 out of 5 on Google Maps from 2,698 reviews, as of October 2026A four-star in the Biniancolla development beside Punta Prima, with two-bedroom family rooms and suites published at five and six people, the widest choice of five-person rooms on this page. It runs all inclusive and a free beach shuttle from May to October.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The 55 square metre Two Bedroom Premium Suite, two bedrooms and two bathrooms for up to six
- Breakfast for children
- All inclusive with buffet meals and dispenser drinks, and no child price published
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- 10 minutes to Biniancolla cove and 20 minutes to Punta Prima beach on the operator's figures, which the same page also calls a few metres, with a free shuttle from May to October to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- A family of five or six on a tighter budget who want two bedrooms and do not need the water park.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families booking for the water park, which the operator no longer describes anywhere.
- The catch
- The catch: The water park that used to be in the hotel's name has no live page: the Splash SurMenorca link now sends you to the group home page, so nothing current is published about whether it opens or what it costs. The five-person family rooms list beds for three, a double and a single, without saying where the fourth and fifth people sleep. Cots, child prices and kids club ages are not published.

Arenal d'en Castell
Palladium Hotel Menorca
€€Rated 4.5 out of 5 on Google Maps from 1,229 reviews, as of October 2026A 264-room four-star 300 metres from the beach at Arenal d'en Castell, with a children's splash pool 40 cm deep, a free kids club for 4 to 12 and a choice of half board or all inclusive. It is the only hotel here that sells interconnecting rooms by name: two Deluxe rooms joined by an inside door.
- Room to book
- Book this room: Connecting Deluxe, two rooms with an inside door, published for four adults and two children
- Children stay free
- Under-2s stay free, and the adult rate applies from age 3
- Breakfast for children
- Not priced separately, because children are charged the adult rate from age 3
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- About 4 minutes to Arenal d'en Castell beach on the operator's figure of 300 metres, with a free shuttle at set times to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- A family of five or six who want a door between the parents' room and the children's.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families with children aged 3 or over watching the budget, because they pay the adult rate.
- The catch
- The catch: Children pay the full adult rate from age 3, and the kids club runs only from 10:30 to 14:00. Family rooms are scarce: 5 Deluxe Family, 7 Deluxe Family Sea View and 6 suites out of 264 rooms, all with a sofa bed. The pools are unheated, parking costs 8 euro a day, and the operator's fact sheet and FAQ give two different sizes and depths for the main pool.

Platges de Fornells
FERGUS Club Carema Splash
€€Rated 4.0 out of 5 on Google Maps from 2,390 reviews, as of October 2026An apartment resort on the beachfront at Platges de Fornells on the north coast, 50 metres from the sand, built around a splash park with slides and the Pongus kids clubs. It is the only hotel here with a three-bedroom apartment, published as 6 + 2.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The 48 square metre Two-Bedroom Superior Apartment, published as 3 + 3
- Breakfast for children
- Bed and breakfast or all inclusive, and no child price published
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Under a minute to Platges de Fornells beach on the operator's figure of 50 metres to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- A large family, or two families together, who want three bedrooms and the beach 50 metres away.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone who needs to know who sleeps where, because no apartment has a published bed layout.
- The catch
- The catch: No apartment has a published bed layout, and occupancy is shown only as 3 + 1, 3 + 3 or 6 + 2 with no explanation of the split. The FAQ sells all inclusive as including the Italian restaurant Zia Rosetta, but the dining page says all-inclusive guests get 20 percent off the a la carte dishes there. The mini club is 4 to 8 on the hotel page and 4 to 7 on the group page, and parking is charged.

Cala'n Bosch
Zafiro Menorca
€€Rated 4.5 out of 5 on Google Maps from 688 reviews, as of October 2026A four-star in Cala'n Bosch whose published room types are all one-bedroom suites of about 46 square metres, with a pirate-ship pool, slides, a Wet Bubble pool and a free kids club for 4 to 11. It is also the plainest about its limits: every room type is published at two adults and two children.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The One Bedroom Swim Up Suite, 46.7 square metres with a queen bed and a single sofa bed
- Children stay free
- Under-1s stay free, and the adult rate applies from age 2
- Breakfast for children
- Room only, bed and breakfast, half board or all inclusive, with children charged the adult rate from age 2
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- 5 minutes to Cala'n Bosch beach on the location page's figure of 500 metres, though the home page says 900 metres and the families page a few metres to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- Two parents and one or two small children who want a separate bedroom and an all-day kids club.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: A family of five, who cannot book one suite and cannot get adjoining rooms.
- The catch
- The catch: Nothing here takes a fifth person, the fourth sleeps on a 90 cm single sofa bed in the living room, and the FAQ says the hotel cannot arrange adjoining rooms, only neighbouring ones. Children are charged the adult rate from age 2, and a cot costs 4 euro a day. The operator's own pages give three different distances to the beach.

Cala'n Bosch
MarSenses Paradise Club Hotel
€€Rated 4.7 out of 5 on Google Maps from 1,959 reviews, as of October 2026A four-star apartment hotel 400 metres from the beach at Cala'n Bosch, with Sensiland, a children's pool area with two pools, slides and jets that starts at 20 cm deep. It publishes the clearest child price on the island, 28 euro a night for ages 3 to 12, and its 12 two-bedroom apartments put four people in real beds in two rooms, each with its own bathroom.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The 2 Bedroom Apartment Pool View, 60 square metres for five adults and one child, though only 12 exist
- Children stay free
- Under-2s stay free, ages 3 to 12 pay 28 euro a night, and the adult rate applies from 13
- Breakfast for children
- All inclusive, half board or bed and breakfast, with the child price of 28 euro a night as the published figure
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- About 5 minutes to Cala'n Bosch beach on the operator's figure of 400 metres to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- A family of five or six who want two bedrooms with real beds and a child price they can see in advance.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families relying on a hire car, because 25 parking spaces serve 190 rooms in order of arrival.
- The catch
- The catch: There are 25 parking spaces for a 190-room hotel, handed out in order of arrival. Every pool, including the Sensiland children's pools, is listed as non-heated. In the one-bedroom apartments and suites two of the four sleep on a double sofa bed in the living room, and the FAQ and the rooms page disagree on the bed sizes.

Cala'n Forcat
Globales Almirante Farragut
€Rated 4.3 out of 5 on Google Maps from 5,166 reviews, as of October 2026A resort hotel in Los Delfines at Cala'n Forcat, a three-minute walk from the coves, with sea-water pools including one for children, a kids club, an evening teens' disco and a choice of bed and breakfast, half board or all inclusive. Its water park is the group's separate Aquacenter in Cala en Blanes.
- Room to book
- Book this room: A family room for up to four, or the Double access water park room if the children want the slides
- Breakfast for children
- Bed and breakfast, half board or all inclusive, and no child price published
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- 3 minutes to the Cala'n Forcat coves on the operator's own figure to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- A family of four who want a cheaper base on the Ciutadella side and will pay for a water park day.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families of five, and anyone expecting a splash park in the hotel grounds.
- The catch
- The catch: The hotel mentions family rooms for up to four in its text, but no family room type appears on its rooms page and no beds or size are published. The water park is off site and costs 18 euro for children aged 3 to 11 unless you book the Double access water park room. Parking and the gym are charged, and the kids club is 5 to 12 on one page and 4 to 12 on two others.

Cala Galdana
Meliá Cala Galdana
€€€Rated 4.4 out of 5 on Google Maps from 2,502 reviews, as of October 2026A five-star with direct access to the beach at Cala Galdana, with a children's pool, a pool fence, the Kidsdom kids club and a Connected Room of two connecting bedrooms. It sells room only, breakfast or half board rather than all inclusive.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Connected Room, two connecting bedrooms, each with a king or two single beds
- Breakfast for children
- Room only, breakfast or half board, and no child price published
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- On the beach: the operator lists direct access to Cala Galdana beach to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- Parents who want a door between bedrooms and the beach outside the hotel, without all inclusive.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families who want all inclusive or a published maximum occupancy before they book.
- The catch
- The catch: No room type publishes a maximum occupancy, so the site never confirms how many people a family room takes. The best pool, the Cape Nao infinity pool, is adults only and open only to guests in The Level rooms or for an extra charge. The two Melia pages also give different Kidsdom ages, babies from 9 months to children of 12 on one and 8 months to 10 years on the other.

Son Bou
SOL Milanos Pingüinos
€Rated 3.8 out of 5 on Google Maps from 3,950 reviews, as of October 2026Best valueA three-star in two buildings on Son Bou beach, which it calls the only hotel alongside the beach, with all inclusive, a lagoon-style pool, a children's area in the sports pool and clubs from 8 months. Its Family Sea View has two separate bedrooms, and a standard room comes with a bunk bed.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Family Sea View, two separate bedrooms listed with connecting rooms
- Breakfast for children
- All inclusive, half board or breakfast, and no child price published
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- On the beach: the operator lists direct access to Son Bou beach to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- A family on a budget who want all inclusive and the sand on the doorstep.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families of five who want every child in a fixed bed.
- The catch
- The catch: No room type publishes a maximum occupancy. The Family Sea View, the only two-bedroom room, lists a single double bed and the possibility of adding extra beds, and it has a shower rather than a bath. It is a three-star, parking is an extra fee, and the operator says some activities cost extra.

Sant Tomas
Villa Le Blanc Gran Meliá
€€€€Rated 4.6 out of 5 on Google Maps from 570 reviews, as of October 2026Billed as the first grand luxury hotel on Menorca, on Sant Tomas beach, with a kids club built on alternative teaching methods, a children's pool and two-bedroom suites made by joining two rooms. It takes children but is not built around them: the rooftop pool, the rooftop bar and one restaurant are adults only.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The Interconnected Premium with Terrace, two 40 square metre rooms with a double bed in each
- Breakfast for children
- Breakfast or half board, with half board marked as an extra fee, and no child price published
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- About 1 minute to Sant Tomas beach on the operator's figure of 0.1 km to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- Parents with school-age children who want a luxury hotel on the sand and two real rooms.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families with toddlers who want drop-off childcare.
- The catch
- The catch: Children under five cannot be left at the kids club, which says they must be accompanied by an adult, and its opening days and times are not published. The rooftop pool and bar are adults only, half board is an extra fee, and no room publishes a maximum occupancy. The site also contradicts itself on the airport transfer, included in one banner and an extra fee in the facilities list.

Mahon
Catalonia Mirador des Port
€€Rated 4.4 out of 5 on Google Maps from 692 reviews, as of October 2026A four-star family hotel in Mahon above the harbour, ten minutes on foot from the historic centre, and the only town hotel on this page. Its family rooms put the children in bunk beds rather than on a sofa, cots are free at one per room, and there is a pool with a children's area in a garden.
- Room to book
- Book this room: The 39 square metre Terrace Garden Family room, a double bed and two bunk beds with an 8 square metre terrace
- Breakfast for children
- Buffet breakfast is published, with no child price
- Walk to each hotel's nearest named beach
- No beach on foot: the operator publishes no beach distance, only a 10-minute walk to the historic centre to each hotel's nearest named beach
- Right for
- A family of four who want a town base for the harbour, the old centre and day trips, with a pool in summer.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Families who want a beach on foot or a kids club.
- The catch
- The catch: There is no kids club and no beach within a published walking distance. The pool, the hotel's one family amenity, is closed from 31 October to 24 March. Parking costs 22 euro a day and cannot be reserved, the spa is for over-16s only, and the 22 square metre Family room puts four people in one room with the children on bunks.
Where not to book in Menorca
The mistake in Menorca is assuming a family resort charges for children the same way. Read the child age line before you compare prices: Zafiro Menorca charges the adult rate from age 2 and Palladium Hotel Menorca from age 3, while Royal Son Bou includes up to two children free and MarSenses charges 28 euro a night for ages 3 to 12. The second thing to check is what the kids club actually covers. Palladium's runs from 10:30 to 14:00 only, Insotel Punta Prima allows two 75-minute sessions a day after registration, and Villa Le Blanc does not take under-5s without an adult. Then check the beds: at Zafiro the fourth person sleeps on a 90 cm single sofa bed, and every Insotel family suite and every Palladium family room uses a sofa bed. Treat a few metres from the beach with suspicion, since three operators here contradict their own distances. And if a water park is the reason you are booking, confirm it first: Minura Sur Menorca's water park page no longer exists, and the Globales water park is a separate site in Cala en Blanes with its own entry price.
When to book
Book the room shape before the dates, because the rooms that hold a family are a small share of these hotels. Palladium Hotel Menorca has 5 Deluxe Family and 7 Deluxe Family Sea View rooms out of 264, and MarSenses Paradise Club has only 12 two-bedroom apartments. If you need five or six in one booking, that is the constraint that sets your dates. The tourist tax runs at its full rate from 1 May to 31 October and at a quarter of it from November to April, and it halves from the ninth day of a stay in the same hotel, so a longer stay dilutes it. Check seasonal extras against your dates: the Royal Son Bou Teenyclub runs only in July and August, the Insotel teen club only in peak season, the Globales water park from 1 May to 22 October, and the pool at Catalonia Mirador des Port shuts from 31 October to 24 March.
