In Brief

When is the best time to visit Cancún?

The best time to visit Cancún is December to April - the dry season, with sunny skies, low humidity, calm seas and little to no seaweed or hurricane risk. It's peak season, so December-January and the spring-break weeks are the busiest and priciest. April and late November are the sweet spots for that same great weather at lower rates. The hurricane season runs June to November and peaks in September, and sargassum seaweed is heaviest from about May to October.
