The Best Time to Visit Cancún
Cancún is warm all year, so a great trip is really about timing three things: the dry season, the hurricane peak and the sargassum seaweed. Here's every month rated for weather, crowds, cost and sea conditions - so you book the beach holiday you're picturing.
When is the best time to visit Cancún?
The best time to visit Cancún is December to April - the dry season, with sunny skies, low humidity, calm seas and little to no seaweed or hurricane risk. It's peak season, so December-January and the spring-break weeks are the busiest and priciest. April and late November are the sweet spots for that same great weather at lower rates. The hurricane season runs June to November and peaks in September, and sargassum seaweed is heaviest from about May to October.

| Sep | 32°C, hot, wet | Low | $ | Statistically the peak hurricane month and the wettest - the cheapest rates, but the highest chance of a washout. |
| Oct | 31°C, warm, wet | Low | $ | Still in hurricane season and wet, though improving late; low prices, but keep plans flexible and insured. |
| Nov | 30°C, warm, drying | Moderate | $$ | Hurricane season winds down and the dry season returns - excellent value before the December holiday surge. |
| Dec | 28°C, dry, mild | Low then Peak | $$$ | Lovely dry weather; calm and cheaper early, then prices and crowds spike from about December 20 for the holidays. |
