The Best Hotels in Nashville With Pool Access, and Which Ones Close for Winter
Best all-round: JW Marriott NashvilleNashville sells the rooftop pool harder than any city in the South, and almost nobody mentions the catch: most of them shut for the winter. One deck turns into an igloo camp in November, another swaps loungers for fireside cabins, and a third states plainly that it runs early spring to late October. Exactly one downtown hotel says its rooftop pool is open year-round and heated. This page sorts them by that, and by the other question that decides your afternoon: who lets non-guests in.
Which are the best hotels in Nashville with pool access?
JW Marriott Nashville is the year-round answer: its rooftop pool deck is the only one in the city that its own hotel describes as open all year and heated in winter, 6am to 11pm daily. For the summer scene, the W Nashville's WET Deck is the one that genuinely sells day passes to non-guests, and Virgin Hotels sells three-hour paid deck seating on its 14th-floor Pool Club. Grand Hyatt states its season plainly, early spring to late October, and keeps the pool for hotel guests only, as does the Kimpton Aertson in Midtown. For families the answer moves out of downtown entirely, to Gaylord Opryland.

What the bands mean
Bands are relative tiers, not quotes. Davidson County hotels averaged 199.20 dollars a night across 2025 on STR data published by the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp, and the pool hotels sit above that line. Two costs the nightly rate hides: lodging tax runs 16.75 percent plus 2.50 dollars a night, and downtown parking is valet-only at most of these addresses, 59 to 75 dollars a night. Distances measured on OpenStreetMap foot routing at 4.5 km/h in August 2026, from each hotel's door to the middle of Lower Broadway at 4th Avenue. Where a property is not a walking base, the card says so rather than dressing up the number.

JW Marriott Nashville
€€€€Best all-roundThe one that beats the seasonal problem. Marriott's own description of the roughly 12,000 square foot rooftop deck says open year-round and heated in the winter months, with hours of 6am to 11pm daily and cabanas seating six that come with towel service, a dedicated server and a fruit platter. In a city where the competition puts igloos on the roof in November, that is the differentiator.

- The catch: Cabana prices are not published anywhere on the hotel's own pages, and neither is a day-pass option - this is a guests-first deck.
The Gulch
W Nashville
€€€€The WET Deck in the Gulch is the loudest pool in the city and the only one selling a straightforward day pass to non-guests, through Marriott's own day-pass channel, in a 10am to 6pm window. Marriott labels the outlet seasonal in its own listings, and the official opening party pins the season start at 17 April.

- The catch: Marriott publishes no price for the day pass, no guest pool hours and no children's policy - three blanks on a deck this heavily marketed.
Music Row
Virgin Hotels Nashville
€€€€The Pool Club on the 14th floor is the most honest seasonal operator in town: pool access from around 11 April in summer, and when the weather turns, the hotel says openly that the deck transforms into fireside seating with heated cabins. Non-guests get in by booking three-hour paid seating - daybeds for two, sofas for six, cabanas for ten - each with a minimum spend and pool and towel access included.

- The catch: Cabanas book two to three weeks ahead and the minimum spends are not published, so the real cost of a deck afternoon is unknowable until you book.
Broadway at the arena
Grand Hyatt Nashville
€€€The clearest season statement of any Nashville hotel: Hyatt's own FAQ says the pool and the Solstice poolside restaurant open seasonally from early spring through late October, weather permitting. One correction worth carrying, because most listings get it wrong - the pool is on the fifth-floor Lifestyle Level, not the 25th-floor rooftop, which holds the bar.

- The catch: Hours are not published at all - Hyatt's own answer is that they vary seasonally and you should ask the front desk.
Printers Alley
Bobby Hotel
€€€The rooftop with the 1956 Scenicruiser bus parked on it, and the most Nashville pool deck in the city. It is a summer proposition: pool parties run Saturday afternoons all summer, and for more than three months each winter the whole roof becomes Camp Bobby, an igloo-and-pine-tree installation that runs from early November to mid-February.

- The catch: The hotel's own pages contradict each other on whether the roof is public or gated to guests and cabana bookings; cabana fees are described only as fees and minimums apply.
Midtown
Kimpton Aertson Hotel
€€Best valueThe value pick, and one of only two hotels here with an access policy stated in writing: the eighth-floor outdoor pool with zero-depth entry and in-water chaise lounges is for hotel guests and Aertson Midtown residents only, no day passes, open 9am to 9pm. The hotel calls it a seasonal rooftop pool without naming the months.

- Wrong for: Anyone whose plan is walking home from Broadway - it is a measured 38 minutes away.
- The catch
- The catch: Season dates are nowhere on the site, and the pool bar's published hours carry a stale 2025 effective date - call before a shoulder-season trip.
Downtown at 7th Avenue
Holston House Nashville
€€€A downtown boutique whose own page is literally titled Boutique Hotel With Rooftop Pool, with the deck reached through an exclusive entrance from the Bungalow Room and hours given as sunrise to sunset, daily. It is the most central rooftop pool on this list.

- Wanting a pool within a few minutes of the Ryman without the party-deck volume.

- Wrong for: Planners who need certainty - almost nothing beyond the hours is published, including whether it runs in winter.
- The catch
- The catch: Sunrise to sunset daily implies year-round but never says it, and the rooftop bar's hours differ between two of the hotel's own pages - treat the details as unconfirmed.
Opryland
Gaylord Opryland Resort
€€€The family answer, and a different category entirely: nine acres of indoor gardens with a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi open 8am to 10pm, a heated outdoor pool 9am to 5pm, lifeguards and children's pools at both, plus SoundWaves, a four-acre water park on three levels kept at 84 degrees indoors with a seasonal outdoor section.

- Not a walking base at all - the resort sits by Opry Mills, a drive or a long bus ride from Broadway to the middle of Lower Broadway at 4th Avenue
- Right for
- Families who want water regardless of the month - the indoor SoundWaves runs year-round.
- Wrong for
- Wrong for: Anyone assuming the water park comes with the room. It does not: Gaylord states that room-only reservations do not include SoundWaves admission.
- The catch
- The catch: A 28 dollar nightly resort fee applies on top of the rate, and it does not cover SoundWaves; day passes there are limited, first-come and not guaranteed even for hotel guests.
Where not to book in Nashville
Four hotels marketed on their rooftops have no pool at all, and two of them say so themselves. Thompson Nashville's FAQ states plainly that it has no swimming pool and points guests elsewhere; L.A. Jackson upstairs is a bar. Noelle's own site is even more direct: Noelle does not have a rooftop pool, but Rare Bird, our rooftop bar, offers the views. Fairlane Hotel lists a rooftop terrace and no pool, and Hilton Nashville Downtown appears on neither of Hilton's own Nashville pool filters. Two more to treat carefully: 21c Museum Hotel lists no pool on its official pages, and Dream Nashville's own amenity list has none while a chain page suggests otherwise, so confirm by phone before booking either for the water.
When to book
Pool season and event season are the same season here, so the deck you want is busiest when the rates are highest. Book eight weeks out for June through August, and much further for CMA Fest in June, any Titans or Predators home weekend, and the bachelorette-heavy Saturdays that run all summer. The quiet arbitrage: October still hits pool weather most years while Grand Hyatt's stated season is running and rates have eased, and in deep winter the JW Marriott is essentially the only game in town.
